Why I chose Lees-McRae...

I chose Lees-McRae because it was a small school that offered experience in the field I want to be in. After coming for Wildlife Preview day I realized that it was where I wanted to be, and when I came for orientation was certain that I had made the right decision. Lees-McRae is a beautiful campus, and I knew that I wanted to be in the mountains, but I didn't expect to fall in love with it as much as I did. The community is resilient, which was apparent when I visited after the hurricane and everyone was working together to bounce back.

Favorite thing about Lees-McRae....

My favorite thing about Lees-McRae is the student life and activities that are available. We can rent out kayaks, camping equipment, and climbing gear to do activities on our own. There are classes and clubs that get you involved in any thing you are interested in, and the school is so small you will see the friends you make everywhere. I love going to the different club and RA hosted activities like pumpkin painting, mug decorating, and cookie decorating. Being a part of the community that brought me here helps me make the most of my experience here.
