Favorite thing to do in the area...

My favorite thing to do in the area is going on all the hiking trail and heading to beach mountain for tubing, ice skating or snowboarding. A lot of us around also like to go to the ice cream shop right across the street because why not. Ice cream is amazing even in the winter time! But there are so many outdoor options like backpacking, kayaking etc that really helps on weekends and making those college memories that will last forever!!

My advice to students searching for a college...

My advice is get ahead of FASFA and if you have college credit while in high school this will help you out a lot when it comes to planning where you want to go and what you want to do. And I know this sounds scary but take a chance if you know that there is somewhere where you want to go or do why wait, taking the first step is where it starts and that could be the best decision you’ve ever made.

Why I chose Lees-McRae...

I choose LMC because when I first stepped on campus it felt like home like this is where I’m meant to be. They had the program I was looking for and needed and the clubs I wanted to be apart of and the atmosphere was beautiful and extraordinary to me. It was an outside activity school which I love and I just felt like this was my dream school.

Favorite thing about Lees-McRae....

My favorite thing about LMC is the scenery and atmosphere of Banner Elk, NC. Where you have the beautiful mountains, old historic buildings and a small little town that reminds you of a hallmark movie. When I first visited this campus it just felt like I belonged here.
