My favorite thing about LMC is the scenery and atmosphere of Banner Elk, NC. Where you have the beautiful mountains, old historic buildings and a small little town that reminds you of a hallmark movie. When I first visited this campus it just felt like I belonged here.
I choose LMC because when I first stepped on campus it felt like home like this is where I’m meant to be. They had the program I was looking for and needed and the clubs I wanted to be apart of and the atmosphere was beautiful and extraordinary to me. It was an outside activity school which I love and I just felt like this was my dream school.
My favorite thing to do in the area is going on all the hiking trail and heading to beach mountain for tubing, ice skating or snowboarding. A lot of us around also like to go to the ice cream shop right across the street because why not. Ice cream is amazing even in the winter time! But there are so many outdoor options like backpacking, kayaking etc that really helps on weekends and making those college memories that will last forever!!
My most memorable experience at Lee’s McRae has been making a bunch of life long friends that will last forever and making those memories with the people I love. For example staying out till 3 in the morning watching bears or going to cookout even meeting my husband had been an adventure I will never forget!!
