My advice to students searching for a college...

Keep an open mind. You never truly know how you're going to feel about your next steps until you get out there and start exploring. Go on as many tours as you can, focus on how the school makes you feel, see if you think you'll be comfortable and successful there, and then make your decision from there.

Most memorable Lees-McRae experience...

My most memorable Lees-McRae experience has to be exploring the Elk Valley Field Preserve with my friends. Even as a Business major, it's really nice to get out into nature and look for salamanders, explore the trails, and go hiking, especially when you can watch your friends climb (and fall out of) trees!

Why I chose Lees-McRae...

I chose Lees-McRae because of the near-instant feeling of home. Everyone is so nice, and it's a homey community.

Favorite thing to do in the area...

My favorite thing to do in the area is to go hiking and exploring. I usually prefer going out with friends, but there's something special about a solo adventure that leaves you feeling satisfied. There's a lot of hiking trails of various difficulties within walking distance or a short drive from campus, making it a really easily accessible adventure for a weekend afternoon!
