The community here is so close and supportive. Everywhere I go people are saying hi and asking how you are. I have made so many lifelong friends at Lees-McRae and I get to see them every single day in all my classes. The professors are able to help you individually due to such small class sizes and they are able to teach on a more personal level.
Look for a place you feel like you could call home. It is so important to enjoy where you live and feel comfortable in your space. Lees-McRae has made itself my home and I’m happy to be here every day.
Staying up until midnight to go hiking in the rain with Dr. Osbourn so we could collect salamanders.
I chose Lees-McRae for the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. The hands-on experience you get in the center is absolutely irreplaceable. It is such a privilege to work directly with wildlife every single day and puts me leagues ahead on my vet-school applications which is a huge bonus.
