Ambassador at Lees-McRae College
She/her/hers
Class of 2026
Hometown: Corona, CA
Major: Pre-Veterinary Medicine
Minor: Wildlife Rehabilitation
Working in the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center has been one of the best experiences I've had so far. I learn new skills every day, that are crucial for becoming a veterinarian. Also, it's really cool to interact with animals you might not see every day!
I love how many experiential learning activities Lees-McRae has to offer. The May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is awesome for students interested in helping the local wildlife and prepares students interested in careers beyond college. Even for students not in the Pre-Vet, Wildlife, or Biology department, there's other opportunities available for them too. There's study abroad trips, Mock crime scenes/interviews for Criminal Justice Students, and our Elk valley Preserve and Field Station. There's so many opportunities available for students!
I love thrifting at the local thrift stores and browsing the unique shops in Boone. My favorite shop's would be the Happy Place or Anna Banana's. If your not into shopping or browsing, there's an abundance of trails and outdoor activities to do out here. I really enjoy the Greenway Trail. It's nice to get some fresh air, reset, and ground yourself, when college gets tough.
I chose Lees-McRae for a couple of reasons. First, I wanted to go out of state. I love California but I was ready for a change. Second, I get to play the sport I love while studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Lastly, North Carolina is beautiful, especially Banner Elk. You can't beat morning practices surrounded by the mountains!
